Stress-free autumn

September means you’ll soon be back to the school run-work-sleep routine, and it’s back to school for the kids. Be organised and get into habits that make it easy to get back into the swing of things and avoid the rush.

On the to-do list

Don’t let yourself be overwhelmed at the end of the holidays – ease in gradually. Identify times of the week that will require the most energy and organisation, then plan as much as possible. If your children are going to eat with nanny on Wednesday afternoon, select a generous recipe for Tuesday evening using your Thermomix®, so all she needs to do is warm up your delicious dish!

Prepare the basics in advance

Daily support!

Some essential ingredients should always be on your shopping list: milk, butter, cereal, eggs, pasta, etc. Then for example, to make the carrot-cumin quiche (available on Cookidoo®), simply add cumin and caraway seeds to your list, as you already have your stock of basic ingredients in the cupboards or fridge... that’s all there is to it!

A few tips

  • PLAN! Print-out free timetables available online. Note down the week’s schedule every weekend (picnic, work lunch, special event etc.), so you can get the shopping you need and whip up tasty Thermomix® recipes with your TM31, TM5 or TM6.

  • Work as a team: are you in charge of household logistics? OK, but every member of the family needs to pitch in. Share your Cookidoo® shopping list with your other half so they can add anything you’ve forgotten. Ask your children to add anything they need, etc.

  • Lay a good foundation: get into the habits that will help you before the kids go back. Prepare meals at the weekend and share tasks for a well-managed, gentle return to routine.

  • Enjoy yourself: even when the days pass too quickly, don’t forget to have fun with your loved ones, and cook with love (and your Thermomix®, naturally). Things may not perfect, but they will be done with a smile!
